Propecia.
Propecia (finasteride) is a prescription drug that has been designed for the treatment of male pattern hair loss. Its effects are based on preventing the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone, the latter being blamed for the process of hair loss. Tell your doctor about any medical conditions you have or used to have especially any of the following: inability to urinate, liver disease, bladder muscle disorder, prostate cancer, and stricture of your urethra, as they may affect the success of your treatment. Propecia is supposed to be taken once a day and is not known to cause any drug interactions. However, you may need to take it for up to three months to see the first results, as it works in different ways for different patients. Once you stop the treatment, the progress will be lost, so make sure you are ready to take this medicine for as long as necessary to be able to maintain the progress achieved. Mild side effects of Propecia may occur at the beginning of the treatment and they may include runny nose, pain in the testicles, headache, dizziness, weakness, loss of interest in sex, skin rash, impotence, and some other ones. Unless they persist or get bothersome there is no need for you to report them to your health care provider.
